Plants
The Amazon rainforest is home to approximately 80,000 plant species (World Wildlife Fund). Plants play a crucial role in terrestrial environments, excluding caves. As primary producers, they provide food for all other life forms, sequester carbon, form the majority of the biomass, and create habitats. The destruction of vegetation directly translates to habitat destruction.
